Ya Unload Six tons, and what do ya get?

Ya get to buy another two.

The truck came yesterday from Lombardi Gravel backed up and dropped six tons of 3/4 inch stone into what used to be my patio area. My neighbor leveled it all out and I still need another inch or so.

I called Carefree in Colchester and purchased the building...

The building will be arriving on the 9th of July, they will level it and screw it in place with 32 inch hurricane coils.

Of course, since the truck that delivers the stone is what you may call, heavy, The concrete section between the driveway and the stone will have to be replaced, since it broke in two places.

Getting...stoned

Last night, upon retrieving my snail mail...I found my Town Zone permit.

So today I ordered 3/4 inch crushed stone, enough to cover a 14' x 17' area, 5"deep, or in easier terms...6 tons. The stone should be here tomorrow afternoon

Roof, gutters and caps

The contractors finished up today, the roof is done, the gutters and downpipes are in and the gutters have screening. The Chimney has been repointed and capped and the roof line has had a zinc strip installed to stop moss growth on it.

Saturday

That what was...

Is no more

Filling in the low area between the driveway and the house

The stone patio is now gone, well it's not gone, it's just not a patio any more...

it's just...Stones

.
Filling in around the foundation, yes the dryer exhaust and window need to be replaced, not to mention the entire foundation needs to be cleaned, stripped and painted.

the low area near the basement door is being brought up to height, this should cut down the lake effect which usually occurs in March and April

The Chimney has been re-pointed and capped

Contractors jobs

The contractors should be finishing up the roof today, completing the the first of the three items they are doing. Also today they expect to have the chimney finished, repointed. Monday they will install the gutters and downspouts and they should be done.

I can also report that this morning the last cabinet door has dried and all the kitchen cabinet doors have been re-installed. Also installed this morning is the door stop for the door leading to the first floor bedroom.

Next will be attacking the cabinet interiors and the kitchen closet (broom closet/Leather riding gear). All will be getting done with white interiors.

the next plan of attack

While work progresses in the previously painted room, and believe me there is a lot of little stuff left to do, I have set my sites on the next target, the Living room. A note here, the Living room includes a vestibule and the staircase to the second floor.

So, today I started removing items for storage, or disposal. Disposal includes a wood frame mirror,

Which has already found a new place to move to. Also on teh hit list is a Television cabinet with storage areas. As of yet no one has said they want it so soon it will be disassembled (lock screws) and re-assembled on the lawn, where it will either be picked up by someone or demolished and donated to the dumpster.

As you can see, the walls and ceiling need cleaning and painting and a couple steps require replacing.

Friday and Saturday roof work

Due to Thunder storm predictions no work was done on Friday, the Thunder never came, but the rain did.

Saturday morning found the guys at work on the east side of the house...

Coming home after the Randall Perry Memorial ride found the boys gone...but work had now moved to the front of west side of the house.
