Upstairs still

I stopped working on the shelves because Dado cuts were blasting me with wood chips. I have solved the entire saw dust issue. Downstairs the unit will have a hose, but on the second floor I had to make a collector.

The supports and shelves were cut but  was waiting for my zero tolerance insert before I did any more Dado cuts...

One has arrived today

Woodchips and sawdust

Because the DWE7480 isn't actually designed for a dado blade it's hard to fine zero tolerance inserts.
I found two on line that may work and ordered one of each.  I could probably make them using the scroll saw but it is still not mounted as of yet.

In the mean time I was performing the cuts leaving the entire saw insert removed. This is not actually the safest thing to do, plus the sawdust and woodchips fly up out of the saw and plaster me.

The inserts should be in next week, in the mean time I have two shelf sections almost complete, (missing baseboards). I have made all the cuts on the third shelf section and tonight will be measuring and cutting the uprights and shelves for the west wall. With them all cut all I should need to do is cut the zero tolerance insert and perform all the dado cuts for both remaining sections, once that is done it will just be a matter of painting and mounting.

That will bring me to the floor work.

Lumber and Gypsum

Because of it being that time of year (Income Tax) I ran out of wood but was unable to purchase any more. Yesterday I was finally able to buy more 1x6x12s and a couple 1x8x8 boards. So I should be able to get all the shelves cut and assembled for upstairs.

Once done and painted, all that will leave to do there is mount the shelves sections together and to the walls, vacuum the area and work on the floor. I would like to be able to put down the cushioned linoleum floors, but at this time the price for that and the under-flooring is a little more than I can do.  So i the meantime the floor will be sanded and sealed.

The next purchase will be 14 sheets of sheet rock and a few rolls of insulation. This will allow me to get the garage walls done, painted and have the corner cabinets installed, which in turn will allow me to toss the old hutch top section in the dumpster. I would toss it now but then the helmets heated gear and other assorted motorcycle riding type stuff would be on the floor.

Saw Dust

I spent Sunday making saw dust, cut new shelves for the upstairs room,  ran out of wood. Nat finished up the sanding, and is getting ready to paint.
