Gaps and grooves

Have begun scrubbing the walls upstairs (although these photos were taken before hand), started noticing all the gaps between the walls and ceiling...

and walls and floor...

then it dawned on me that while the gap at the floor is due to settling and there is a base moulding in place, that the ceiling gaps (while also due to settling) had no mouldings.

Last night I stopped at Home Depot and picked up mouldings

The game room

The upstairs bedroom will become a game room, this room needs a bit of work. The ceiling has to be all sanded to hide the original seams and nail heads. I am also going to cut a hole in the ceiling to see what i have above it, if anything needs work or insulation. Also to make sure there are no nasty insect nests up there.

The linoleum has been removed, and i am going to stay with the floor as raw, except refinished stained and sealed. All the joints in the room have gaps and once the ceiling and walls are scrubbed they will be sealed and everything will get painted. the floor will be last.

Natalie helped with the junk today and cleaning the room, and she will be coming back this week to clean and paint the vestibule.

Here is a roughly 360 degree view of the room.

The dining room is finished, except ...

it is all painted and ready except for the east window, which will be replaced once the weather warms up.

The floor is not done yet but none of the hardwood floors are, they are being saved until last.

i also find that i really do not like the trim color, When the window is replaced I will repaint the rooms trim.

Work continues...moving upward

The ombre for the stairs has been done, we went with a light color to start so there is not a drastic differnce between the top and the bottom and although you can see it in person, the difference really doesn't show up in photos.
