One Done...one to go

The new tread in place but as you can see, the end of the step extends out past the railing base.

This called for cutting the tongue and groove section off the above riser allowing to slide the new tread in

With the new tread pushed into place it still extended out past where the other treads did, notice thin pen mark 1 1/8" in from step edge on railing base. This is where the tread should end.

At this point I would have to go downstairs and rip the entire tread that much thinner, I decided to simply notch the tread so that it protrudes further into the stairwell and allowed it to push in past the ladder racks.

Pressed back after notching left the correct thickness for the new riser to be placed in front of the existing riser.

My assistants arrived...

And they went right to work...
